  • An existing Odyssey management code for the intended account.
  • The same intended profile and an internet connection on receiving devices.

One managed setup, the intended profile

A Management Code connects a supported device to your Odyssey managed setup. It is an account credential, not a media-provider password or a sharing invitation. Keep it private, including when taking screenshots or asking for help.

After connecting a device, choose the intended profile. Viewing progress, favourites and many preferences belong to profiles; using the same management code with a different profile can correctly show different results.

Connect an existing setup

  1. On a device already connected to the intended account, open Settings → About → Management Code.
  2. On the new device’s initial screen, choose Use a Management Code and follow its connection screen.
  3. Use the full code from the existing setup, rather than generating an unrelated new setup.
  4. Select the matching profile after connection.
  5. Keep the device online while the managed setup refreshes. Check its sources and try a title that should be available to that profile.

The website provides another entry point: open Manage player, choose Player code, enter Management code and choose Open my player.

What managed sync means

Managed setup includes account sources, profile configuration and supported player state. Supported managed state includes viewing state, profile preferences, scheduled actions, parental policy and managed Live favourites. Changes still depend on valid account access and network delivery.

This does not mean that every device control has the same value everywhere. Some preferences remain local; subtitle size is explicitly excluded from the current player-state sync mapping. Platform-specific playback capabilities also remain platform-specific even when a profile is shared.

Provider access must work on the receiving device. Synced source configuration cannot make an offline server reachable, supply a missing subscription or bypass a source’s rules. Avoid assuming that every locally entered provider secret is automatically copied by every sync feature.

A two-device example

You watch part of an episode on an iPad, then open Odyssey on Apple TV. Both devices use the same management setup and the same profile. Leave them connected so supported progress can be submitted and retrieved. If the television shows a different library or history, check the profile before changing anything else.

If the library appears but the video does not play, test the source connection on the television. If the wrong account is open in web management, sign out and reconnect to the intended player; do not remove sources from an account simply because its contents look unfamiliar.

Changing a code or disconnecting a device

Manage player provides Change code. Its confirmation warns that the old code and existing player activations stop working immediately, so every device must reconnect with the new code. Treat that as a deliberate account operation, not a remedy for ordinary slow refresh.

A device row also offers Revoke. Review the device identity carefully before using it. Neither changing a code nor revoking a device creates or transfers media rights.

Common questions

Why are my favourites different? Confirm the profile, account and permitted sources. Why did a source replacement affect my channels? Re-adding a source can create a new identity; use Reconnect Sources for affected saved channels.

Should I send support my code? No. Describe the symptom, platform, build and approximate time. Does sync happen instantly? The current flows refresh and queue changes; this review establishes no universal delivery-time guarantee.
