Platform coverage is not identical behaviour
Apple TV uses remote focus and television navigation. iPhone and iPad use touch layouts, with some destinations moving between compact navigation and a sidebar. Mac references in the guide evidence include the Catalyst app.
Web management is a browser-based setup and editing surface. It is not a promise that every native playback feature is available in a web player. Check each guide’s Supported platforms and prerequisites.

These are workflow distinctions, not a guarantee that every provider endpoint or file is playable. Verify the intended source and a representative title.
Native options and connected services must agree
The newer native app offers Synology NAS setup through File Station with authorised folder selection. Direct IP and domain connections are implemented; QuickConnect is explicitly unavailable. Use the source guide for that separate native flow.
The client also shows a Personal Series Lock mode and episode/session unlock choices. The currently deployed Odyssey Series Lock service still accepts only Together and Separately. Personal is therefore not an available end-to-end protection on that service. Read Personal locks and profile PINs before relying on those controls.
Friend reporting and blocking are exposed by the newer native screen and the deployed social service. The Friends guide explains the actions, service availability and how to unblock.
Recording, sharing and sync
Home DVR needs a separate supported host, writable storage, trusted HTTPS access and the relevant source permissions. Cloud DVR, local Live Rewind and Catch Up are unavailable in the guide version.
Watch Party and Live TV sharing have different requirements. Management-code sync also has a defined scope: do not assume every device setting or provider credential automatically transfers. See the linked guides for the actual service and platform conditions.
Media formats and receivers
A media server connection does not establish support for every combination of container, video codec, audio format, subtitle track, device and external receiver. The collection does not claim exhaustive physical-device or receiver testing.
For a required format, test a representative authorised file using the intended Odyssey build and output device. Note its container, tracks and exact error if it fails. Embedded subtitles are preferred; downloaded subtitles are a manual choice that must match the episode and release.
What was checked
The latest source inspected on the Mac mini is Odyssey 2.101 build 1194, checked on 21 October 2026. Odyssey reports 1195 as the latest build, but its matching source or archive was not found during this review. The guide collection also retains older workflow evidence where that task has not been fully rechecked. A code review does not certify a physical-device result or distribution status.
Use the version shown in your app, the official invitation and a real source test to decide whether a workflow is available to you. Contact support with that context when the app differs from a guide.
Common questions
Does a listed platform guarantee every feature?
No. Platform coverage, build availability, connected services, profile permissions and physical-device behaviour are separate checks.
