Home DVR downloads

Record, share and restream Live TV using storage you control. The companion runs on your computer or server, separately from the Odyssey player. Watch Party is for movies and series only, with independent provider playback and synchronised controls.

Unsigned beta downloads

These packages include the current DVR server, Node, PM2, FFmpeg and runtime dependencies. Windows and Mac downloads are unsigned; Apple notarization and publisher certification are not claimed. Full installation and real-device QA remain pending.

Windows x64: Download EXE installer. Native tray and settings, Start/Stop, account/TLS setup and browser management links. Requires .NET Framework 4.8. Cross-build and embedded-payload checks passed; Windows OS testing is pending.
Mac, Apple Silicon: Download app ZIP or DMG. Current native menu-bar app with bundled arm64 runtime. Native launch/menu and runtime smoke checks passed; full setup and device QA are pending. This is not an Intel Mac package.
Linux x64: Download Linux bundle. Offline CLI installer and generated launchers for Debian 12 compatible glibc 2.36 or newer. Installation, media tools and PM2 lifecycle checks passed. No native Linux tray GUI is included.
Docker, Linux amd64: Download image archive and Compose configuration. Image load, isolated PM2 startup, media tools, persistent restart and graceful shutdown checks passed.

Read the installation guide, release record and platform limitations, and SHA256 checksums before installing. A checksum detects changed bytes; it is not a publisher signature. Do not disable system-wide security protections.

This software uses FFmpeg 9.0.1 under LGPLv3. Download its full matching source and build records, the complete third-party source collection, and license notices. These source downloads accompany all four platform packages.

DVR and Watch Party media policy

Recording, sharing and restreaming are exclusively for Live TV. Watch Party is only for movies and series. Owner testing of complete real-device workflows remains pending.

Live TV recording: start, stop and schedule Live TV recordings, then manage them on your own storage.
Live TV sharing and restreaming: create, copy and revoke private Live TV links. These DVR workflows are exclusively for Live TV.
Live TV readiness: shared Live TV playback waits for usable captured media.
Watch Party: movies and series only. Each participant plays the title independently and directly from their own authorised provider.
Watch Party synchronisation: synchronise playback controls and timing, including play, pause and seek. Movie and series media is not recorded, shared or restreamed through the DVR. Visible synchronisation across actual players remains a device QA check.
Account access: paired devices use management-issued account and source authorization. Each user connects to their own companion.
Dashboard: manage Live TV recordings, schedules and active Live TV links through the configured HTTPS browser address.

Codec, provider and receiving-player compatibility varies. Use only content you are authorized to record and share.

Before installation

Choose durable storage with enough free space and a private directory owned by the service user. Back up existing configuration and recordings before maintenance.
The service uses PM2 and binds to 0.0.0.0:3000. Keep that port free in its deployment namespace.
Provide a trusted HTTPS origin through the supported gateway or NGINX/Cloudflare configuration. Restrict direct backend access and keep credentials private.
Complete account enrollment and login configuration. Installing the runtime does not grant source or account access.
Desktop installation leaves DVR stopped. Start DVR explicitly when setup is ready; quitting the tray/menu app does not stop the server.

FAQ and troubleshooting

Why does Windows or macOS warn about the download?

These beta packages have no Authenticode or Developer ID publisher signature and are not notarized. Verify the download origin and published checksum, review the guide, and use your operating system's normal per-app approval procedure. Full target-device installation QA is pending.

Can I replace my existing companion?

Keep a backup first and follow the matching update instructions. First-run installation refuses to overwrite an existing DVR. Maintenance controls preserve configuration and recordings but require their own owner QA before use on important data.

Why does a Live TV link fail or keep waiting?

Check that DVR is running, HTTPS is reachable, the link is valid, and the account can access the Live TV source. Slow capture, unsupported media or insufficient storage can delay readiness. Movie and series Watch Party instead uses each participant's independent provider playback with synchronised controls. Report the media format and timestamp without private tokens or links.

Where is the source code?

The matching source archives above contain FFmpeg, Node, exact production npm package sources and Debian source packages for distributed libraries and Docker components. Sources for withdrawn builds

The old Linux preview's source, notices and build records, shared-library source supplement, and supplement checksum remain available for users who received those builds. They are not current installers and are not substitutes for this release's matching sources.
